Our Learning Journey
Below you will find out about our learning journey this term.
Please click on any document links for extra learning.
English: World Book Day 2026
Year 2 had a fantastic day immersing themselves in World Book Day and the story Oliver by Charles Dickens. We started the day with a special treat, watching the staff perform a fun panto, which the children absolutely loved.
Throughout the day, the children enjoyed a range of activities linked to the story. They made porridge and even got to taste it, just like in Oliver!

The children also became illustrators by designing their own book covers and showed their creativity by writing their own poems.
To inspire us, some Year 5 children came to read their poems aloud, which Year 2 really enjoyed listening to. It was a wonderful day full of creativity, reading and fun.
Maths
During Maths lessons, we are learning the four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. This term we are also exploring fractions, time, money and statistics.
We use concrete equipment and pictorial representations to support our learning.
PANTS
The children in Year Two have recently been taking part in the NSPCC PANTS programme, which helps them learn important messages about staying safe. They have really enjoyed learning the Pantosaurus song and it has been lovely to see them joining in with enthusiasm.
Throughout the sessions, the children have shown great maturity and sensible attitudes while learning about different parts of the body and understanding that privates are private. They have engaged thoughtfully in discussions and activities, showing respect and care for one another.
It has been wonderful to see how confidently the children have taken part and how well they have understood the key messages about keeping themselves safe.

Internet Safety
Year 2 have been learning about internet safety and how to stay safe online. They discussed the importance of keeping personal information private and speaking to a trusted adult if something online worries them. The children were very sensible and shared some great ideas during our discussions.
