Important Information
At our Nursery, we provide a nurturing, stimulating, and engaging environment where children feel safe, happy, and excited to learn. Through play-based learning and carefully planned activities, we support children’s development across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our aim is to build confidence, independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Communication, Language and Literacy
In Nursery, our phonics sessions focus on developing the children’s language skills by providing a language rich environment and encouraging them to use new words and phrases. This half term, the children will continue learning a new sound each week and take part in a range of activities, songs and games linked to it. The set one sounds that will be taught this half term are t, i, n, p and g.

Maths
Children develop early mathematical skills through practical and engaging activities. We explore numbers through counting songs, games, and hands-on experiences. Children learn to recognise numbers, count objects, compare quantities, and begin to understand simple concepts such as more, less, big, and small.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development
We support children in developing positive relationships with adults and their peers. Children learn to share, take turns, express their feelings, and develop confidence in their abilities. Through group activities, circle times, and play, we help children build independence and resilience while learning to understand and respect others.
Expressive Arts and Design
Creativity is encouraged through a wide range of activities including painting, drawing, role play, music, and construction. Children are given opportunities to explore different materials and express their ideas through art and imaginative play. Singing songs, dancing, and using musical instruments also form an important part of our creative learning.

Understanding the World
Children explore the world around them through hands-on experiences and discussions. In Nursery, we learn about the seasons, noticing changes in the weather and the environment throughout the year. Children explore nature, observe plants and animals, and learn about different celebrations and traditions. One of the highlights have been learning all about the Chinese new year.
